Position Summary:
The Compliancy Coach, having both pedagogical and regulatory expertise, will work as a colleague with special educators to support compliance in school-produced documents. The Compliancy Coach will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about constructing IEPs, 504s, and supporting reports and documents that meet local and state requirements. In order to meet this purpose, the Compliancy Coach will provide personalized, 1:1 support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers

 

Essential Functions:

• Create a culture of learning with teachers and administrators by developing and maintaining confidential, collegial relationships
• Facilitate the intellectual and professional development of teachers with a focus on improving document compliance with local and state regulations
• Review IEPs and other teacher-created documents and reports for accuracy and appropriateness in compliance with state and federal guidelines; address weaknesses with teachers as required
• Provide individualized coaching and ongoing guidance to special educators for IEP development, disability information, research based instructional strategies, and behavior management.
• Provide IEP training for all new special education teachers at the beginning of the school year
• Model ethical document construction that complies with all relevant regulations
Special Education Compliancy Coach Position
Description
September 2022
• Attend IEP meetings and other student-centered meetings as necessary to resolve issues and ensure the appropriate development and implementation of programs and services
• Manage time and schedule to complete document audits, collaborative review, coaching, and follow-up in a timely manner
• Maintain coaching notes/log after each coaching cycle, including artifacts/evidence supporting each encounter
• Share non-identifying information and coaching log/notes with supervisor
• Provide support for strategies related to IEP, progress monitoring, and other special education-specific document construction
• Provide assistance in researching best practices, and resources for construction of student IEPs
• Encourage ongoing professional growth for all teachers
• Assist with development and implementation of district process and auditing related to confidentiality, content, reporting, and archiving of special education documents and reports
• Engage in individual and school-directed professional development opportunities
• Promote the growth and success of our school by actively engaging in school culture and events, including serving on school committees
• Work positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Technology capacity, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products; Word, Excel, and Outlook

 

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of five years teaching experience
• Active and Valid Instructional II certification from Pennsylvania Department of Education
• Demonstrated knowledge of Pennsylvania School Code, Chapter 14 and related guidance
• Experience in researched-based instructional practices

 

Preferred Education and Experience:
• Master’s degree
• Eight or more years teaching experience
• Previous coaching or teacher leadership experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of reading, writing, literacy development, and/or math

 

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional virtual environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
